Brandon & Aby founded Motus as a husband and wife photo and video team at 8,888 ft in Bailey, Colorado. Today it's a studio: the two of us, plus a team of Motus leads we vetted, trained, and match to each couple. Adventure love stories on film and digital, for couples who want their day remembered the way it actually felt, not just the way it photographed.

Behind the Lens.

We're Brandon & Aby, college track teammates who fell in love between practices, married, and built a life around two things we couldn't shake: each other, and the quiet pull to tell stories that last.

Today we live, work, and run Motus Weddings out of a little corner of the Rockies, 8,888 feet up in Bailey, Colorado. The thin air, the long sunsets, and the slow afternoons up here remind us daily why we do this: because love, when you actually pay attention to it, deserves more than a phone in someone's pocket.

Faith is at the heart of everything, Jesus at the center of our marriage, our calling, and the way we serve every couple who lets us into their day. Outside of weddings and elopements you'll find us chasing trail miles, planning the next trip, and burning through more rolls of 35mm and Super 8 than any reasonable person should.

We make a promise to every couple who books us: to tell your story honestly, to stay out of your way while you live it, and to hand you something that will still move you thirty years from now. We shoot real film alongside modern digital because some moments are too important to trust to a hard drive. The real ones, not just the posed ones.

Authenticity Over Perfection

Real moments, real emotion. The laugh you didn't know was caught. The tear before the vow. We chase the in-between, the parts that pose can never reach.

Film Is A Choice

35mm, medium format, Super 8, 16mm. Each one does a specific job, and every frame costs something, so every frame is considered. We shoot film not for nostalgia but for permanence, the kind of work meant to be held, not scrolled past.

Our marriage, our craft, and how we treat every couple we serve, all rooted in a faith that calls us to show up with patience, kindness, and love.

This Is Why

A bride called us months after her wedding. Her younger brother had just passed away, and she hadn't purchased the raw footage. We sent her a mini highlight reel of her and her brother together at her wedding, and gave her every frame of raw footage, free. That changed everything.

This is legacy. This is why we do this.

Book A Discovery Call

We learn your story, your style, your vision. Then we match you with the Motus lead who fits, and once you book, we introduce you. No pressure, no scripts.

Your Lead Shows Up On Your Day(s)

Cameras in the background, hearts fully present. Your lead moves with the day instead of running it, the way we trained them to, capturing every real moment without ever being in the way. And one of us is never far.

Relive It Forever

Your gallery, your film, your legacy, delivered. Digital images, and Super 8mm and 35mm film when they're part of your booking, developed in-house. Heirlooms your grandkids will hold one day.

How We Build a Motus Lead

Trained by us. Paid like it matters.

Anyone can put a stranger on a roster and call it a team. We didn't do that. Every Motus lead is either someone we already knew was excellent, or someone we took the time to make excellent. Usually both.

FIRST

We start with the work

Before we talk to anyone, we go through their weddings frame by frame. Not the highlight reel. The full gallery, the hard light, the dark reception. If the work isn't there, the conversation ends there.

THEN

We train them the Motus way

How we move through a day without being in it. How we run audio and backups so nothing can be lost. How we talk to a couple who's nervous, how we shoot a first look, how we edit. They shoot alongside us before they ever lead for you. Nobody skips that.

ALWAYS

We pay them fairly

A lot of associate teams are built around paying the shooter as little as they can. We built ours the other way around. Our leads are paid like the professionals they are. That's why the good ones stay, and why your wedding gets their whole attention.

One of us is never far from a Motus wedding. Some days that's a text check-in with your lead. Some days it's Brandon or Aby there for part of it. And if your lead can't make it, more often than not it's one of us who steps in.

That's the difference. Not a roster. A team we built by hand, and would trust with our own wedding.

We love watching a day unfold, the room shift when you walk in, the moments nobody planned, the quiet in-between things that make it yours. Adventure weddings and film belong together for the same reason: both reward patience and presence. We don't rush either. That's the whole thing. That's why we do this.

Brandon handles in-house development of every roll of 35mm and medium format film, along with Super 8mm conversion. Aby keeps the back end running so everything feels seamless from your first email to your final delivery. For years it was just the two of us, and we turned away more couples than we could take. So we built a team of Motus leads: photographers and filmmakers we'd trust with our own wedding, vetted, and trained the Motus way. We match each couple with the lead who fits them, and we stay close. One of us is never far from a Motus wedding. Book the two of us and you get the full film-led Motus experience on a handful of dates a year.
