A film wedding videographer shoots your wedding on real motion picture film, Super 8mm and 16mm at Motus, alongside digital cinema cameras. The film is developed in-house, then woven into a cinematic edit and delivered digitally. You get the texture of true film grain with the reliability of modern digital running beside it.
The approach comes from cinéma vérité, the tradition French documentary filmmakers proved out in the 1960s: put down the script, pick up the camera, and let real life unfold. The truest moments, the ones that actually move you, are never rehearsed. We call our version of it Cinéma Sauvage, truth cinema in wild places.
That means no staged run-throughs and no performance for the camera. Your vows, your first look, the roar of the engine in the getaway car, all captured as they happen. Adventure love stories shot in a cinéma vérité style, whether your day is a mountain elopement or a full wedding with everyone you love in the room.
Behind the cameras are Brandon and Aby, a husband and wife team based at 8,888 feet in Bailey, Colorado. Not a production company, not a crew from a vendor list. Two people who built the studio around the belief that the way your day is documented changes how you will remember it.

Every Motus videography package pairs a cinematic digital edit with real Super 8mm film video, edited in-house and delivered digitally. Coverage runs from a half day to multiple days, and your film is scored and cut around how the day actually unfolded, not a template.
A digital sneak peek lands within 48 hours so you have something to share right away, and the full film arrives in the standard six to eight week window. Book a Full Day or Multi-Day and there is also a day-of film teaser, a short cut edited and in your hands before we leave.
Half-Day films run three minutes or more and are built for elopements where every minute counts. Full-Day films run five minutes or more, from vows to the last dance. Multi-Day coverage delivers a film of eight minutes or more across both days, with the full ceremony edited separately. At every wedding we run three to four independent audio sources at minimum, and we never rely on a single camera. Backup film cameras and digital cameras record alongside each other all day, because older film cameras can fail in ways you cannot always see in real time.
That standard is not overcaution. It is experience. At our own wedding, the videographer we hired lost the audio on our vows. Not degraded. Gone. The footage came back unusable, and the things we said to each other that day, in front of everyone we loved, exist only in our memories now.
We can't get them back. Nobody can.
So when you ask why we take reliability so seriously, that is the answer. It is knowing exactly what it feels like to lose something you can never reshoot. Your day is not a rehearsal, and we treat it accordingly.
How that plays out on your wedding day:
Three to four independent audio sources minimum at every wedding. For elopements, being physically closer to you lets us work with fewer sources while keeping full monitoring and control, and we never drop below two.
On the film side, backup film cameras plus digital cameras running alongside them, every time. Film is a beautiful medium and an older one. We plan for that.
Super 8mm gives your film the warm, grainy, nostalgic texture of home movies. 16mm is the format behind documentary masterpieces and independent cinema, with a frame over three times the size of Super 8mm. Many couples blend both with digital coverage across the day.
